Koastal KAD Hike

Join us for a dog-friendly coastal hike and lunch in San Francisco! This is a relaxed opportunity to get outdoors, connect with fellow adoptees, enjoy some fresh air, and spend time with our four-legged companions.

We'll meet at Park Chalet and hike along the scenic Lands End Trail before returning for lunch together at Park Chalet. Dogs are welcome, but not required—come with your pup or simply join us for the walk and good company.

You're welcome to attend the hike only, lunch only, or both!

WHEN & WHERE: Sunday, June 14,2026 

Hike – 10:00 AMPark Chalet - 1000 Great Hwy, San Francisco, CA 94121

Meet at Park Chalet and we'll hike the scenic Lands End Trail and return to Park Chalet.

*The Lands End Trail in San Francisco is a scenic 3.4-mile (5.5 km) coastal route featuring stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Pacific Ocean, and historic ruins. Located within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, it takes about 1.5 hours to complete and is famous for its cypress groves and wildflowers.

Parking / Logistics:

  • Free parking lot available at Park Chalet (can fill up on weekends)

  • Additional free street parking available nearby along Great Highway and surrounding streets

  • Please arrive 10–15 minutes early so the group can depart on time

  • Do Not leave any items in your car for theft and break-in prevention!

COST & REGISTRATION:

Hike is free. Lunch, drinks, and any personal purchases are your responsibility.

If you're able and willing to contribute, AKASF welcomes donations of any amount. All contributions help us continue creating meaningful programs, events, and spaces for our community to connect and grow.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Plenty of water for you and your dog

  • Poop bags for your dog

  • Sun protection

ATTIRE:

  • Layers! San Francisco weather can be unpredictable—expect fog, wind, and sun (“June Gloom” is real)

  • Comfortable shoes

WHO:

Open to adoptees, family members and well-behaved dogs.
