AKASF is organizing a group outing to attend a screening in support of fellow Korean adoptee director Dahee Kim and her film Rehearsal for an Encounter, featured in the San Francisco International Film Festival’s Shorts Block: Shapes of Love.
This special program brings together a collection of short films exploring connection, identity, and relationships. Join us for an afternoon of cinema, followed by a post-screening dinner to gather in community.
💬 WHAT TO EXPECT:
Shorts Program Screening (3:15 PM):
A curated block of short films, including Rehearsal for an Encounter by Dahee Kim.
Featured Film:
Rehearsal for an Encounter follows Charlie Meador as he practices what he wants to say to his biological mother before meeting her and traveling to Seoul for the first time.
Director Q&A:
Stay after the screening for a conversation with filmmakers from the program.
Dinner Gathering (5:30 PM):
We’ll continue the evening with a group dinner just a short walk from the theater.
